Thousands of home cooks have been sharing their supermarket mud-cake hacks on the Facebook page Woolies/Coles mudcake hacks.
The staple mud-cake available for under $5 from your local supermarket is being transformed into unique cake creations for all events.
Dinosaurs, unicorns, mermaids and even wedding cakes are crafted by stacking and shaping the humble Coles and Woolworths every day cake!
Posting tricks of the trade and step-by-step instructions these amateur bakers are willing to lend a helping hand to other members of the group.
“I made this cake for a friend using 2x Coles white chocolate mud cakes, 2x Betty Crocker vanilla icing tubs and the chocolate sauce from the fruit and veg section,” one member described her wedding cake creation.
These doting bakers are more than happy to instruct on how to recreate their own masterpiece.
“I used two Woolies mud cakes and store bought vanilla frosting,” one Mum said.
With costly cakes setting people back hundreds of dollars these helpful bakers are more than happy to share their tricks of the trade!
