Pal appeared on ABC’s 7.30 to talk about her decision to give birth in her sixties.

She explains she did not meet her husband till she was in her forties and was told she was too old to receive IVF in Australia as the cut-off age is 52.

Pal went to a fertility clinic in India where she was able to conceive her daughter, Angel, through a donor egg and sperm.

She says she’s come under much scrutiny since giving birth.

‘I’ve been condemned and looked at as the biggest mistake I have ever done. What have I done to deserve this treatment? I’ve only become a mum like everybody else does,’ she said.

‘They thought you could be sick in the head to be having a baby at this age, or really silly, or this could be the biggest crime you have ever done to have a baby at this age.’

She added: ‘It’s my body, it is my baby and I am quite capable of looking after this baby. I love my baby, I’d do anything for my baby.’
