Shocking footage of a lion cub attacking a toddler on live television is horrifying viewers around the world.

The clip is from Mexican television programme, Con Sello De Mujer, featuring a lion cub and its handlers meeting a toddler and her mum.

Originally aired in 2009, the clip shows the little girl whine before the lion suddenly attacks her legs and attempts to bite them.

What follows is a panicked tug-of-war between the girl’s mum and the lion and its handlers.
