A pregnant mum and her 10-month-old son survived this.
According to RACQ CQ Rescue, the Toyota Landcruiser was travelling along a dirt road near Clermont, QLD with three passengers when it is believed the driver lost control, hit a tree and rolled the car.
On impact, the vehicle was impaled by a large tree trunk.
The baby had been restrained just centimetres from where the tree had speared through the 4WD, RACQ CQ Rescue said.
Mum and bub were taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
The helicopter crewman for the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter said it was a ‘miracle’ the child survived with only minor injuries.
