102-year-old Edie Simms caused quite the stir in her hometown of St Louis, Missouri, last week when she was handcuffed by local police and put in the back of a paddywagon.
But not all is as it seems.
In fact, the sprightly pensioner asked to be arrested!
While the sweet woman normally spends her days doing community work and hand making items for seniors at her local centre, Edie said she’d always wanted to know what it felt like to be a common crim.
So when she told local police her peculiar bucket list wish, they happily obliged.
Although she’d never been in trouble with the law before, Edie was gently handcuffed and then taken to the station for ‘questioning’. She even needed to use her walking stick.
When asked if she enjoyed the experience, Edie simply said ‘oh yes, handcuffs and all.’
We’ve never seen such an adorable criminal before!
