Fans were devastated at the news of the sudden passing of film star Bill Paxton this week.
The 61-year-old is reported to have died after complications following an operation on an existing heart condition.
Paxton appeared in blockbuster films Titanic, Apollo 13, and Aliens, but is arguably most known for his role as the storm-chaser, Bill Harding, in Twister.
In tribute to the late star, storm chasers across the United States co-ordinated a large scale tribute to the Bill Paxton – hitting the road to spell out his initials across the landscape, reports Gizmodo.
Storm chasers have a special apps that allows them to place markers where there is storm activity. And they used these apps, and Google Maps, to travel across the land and spell out a massive B.P across Oklahoma.
Seeing the dots come together as more and more people became aware of the movement is beautiful.
It’s an incredible example of people using social media to come together for something truly touching.
R.I.P Bill Paxton.
