A mum-of-two was killed when her SUV rolled backward onto her in the driveway of her Melbourne home.
The 32-year-old apparently thought she had hit something reversing out of her driveway. When she went to check, the car rolled and trapped her underneath.
Her children aged seven and four were in the car when it happened. The older child ran inside to call for help, their screams of distress were overheard by a neighbour who also rushed over.
Tragically, the mum died at the scene.
Sergeant Dean Pickering told 7 News it was a tragic accident that probably happened when mum and kids were heading to the shops.
‘It’s something they would most likely do a few times a week,’ he said.
‘No one would have thought this was the way today was going to end. Sometimes it’s just not fair.’
