Doctors are hopeful they will be able to reattach a young boy’s penis it was snipped from his body with a pair of scissors by his mother in an attempt to get back at her ex.
The woman had apparently left the family more than a year before, and had remarried. Police are investigating why she chose to come back and attack her son, Shanghaiist reports.
The family rushed the boy to the doctor, where surgeons reportedly said that he is stable and if all goes well he won’t suffer lasting damage.
