Jerry Yester from legendary band The Lovin’ Spoonful has been arrested on child pornography charges.

People confirmed the news after Yester was arrested by the Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit on Thursday. He was later released from Boone County Jail on a US$35,000 bond on the very same day.

The 74-year-old star famous for hits such as ‘Do You Believe in Magic’ is facing 30 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing sexually explicit material involving a child.

Yester’s alleged activities first came to the attention of authorities after discovering someone was using a computer at his address to download child pornography.

The case will now be handed to 14th Judicial District Prosecutor David Ethredge for further investigation.
