Police in China are punishing drivers who abuse their high-beam by forcing them to see how they like it.

Irresponsibly using high-beam while driving is dangerous as it can dazzle other drivers, causing ‘road blindness’ which can lead to accidents.

In order to combat this problem in the highly-populated city of Shenzhen, Police are fining drivers caught with their light on full-beam and then making them sit in front of dazzling headlights for a minute.

The Police then posted photos of the punishment to the Chinese social networking site, Weibo, where it received over 80,000 likes.

While dazzling dangerous drivers isn’t standard Police procedure, Xinhua News say Police were using it as an opportunity to educate drivers.
