WA’s most popular 50 baby names for last year have been revealed, with Jack and Charlotte topping the list.
Funnily, Olivia and Oliver were the most popular names for baby girls and boys in 2015. This year they came in at six and two respectively.
New additions to the list were Quinn, Peyton, Marley, Marlee, Indi, Faith, Hope, Aaliyah, Daisy, Bonnie, Poppy, Aurora, Ariana, Ayla and Nevaeh – ‘heaven’ spelt backwards (and pronounced NA-VAY-AH).
For the boys were Ryder, Ollie, Parker, Jude, Jett, Toby, Felix, Muhammad, Theodore, Arlo, Spencer, Sonny and Taj.
Birth numbers overall increased by 317 in 2016 to 35,652 and deaths were up 366 to 15,071, but marriages continued to decline in trend, falling by 446 on 2015 figures to 12,320, according to WAtoday.
