Couple who confessed to killing their landlady then lived with corpse for two weeks

They didn't know what to do with the body.

A couple charged with allegedly murdering their landlady apparently lived with her body for two weeks while deciding what they should do with it.

Mary Ring, 69, was shot and killed in her Florida home earlier this month. When she hadn’t been seen for a while, police conducted a welfare check where they discovered her body.

When questioned, her tenants Lawrence Edward Cannon, 42, confessed and was charged with the murder his landlady. His partner, Jennifer Elam, 44, was charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree.

Neighbours say they became suspicous when Ms Ring stopped coming outside. They also say the couple had been trying Ms Ring’s car, and moving her furniture around.

For two weeks, suspects were trying to figure out a plan to dispose of Mary Ring's body. One charged with murder, other as accessory after.
