Detective Tim Lohman of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect ‘did his business and didn’t flush it’ which enabled them to match his DNA to a potential suspect already in their system.

Shortly after, Andrew David Jenson was a arrested on suspicion of burglary which Lohman says is the first time fecal evidence as been used to identify a suspect.

Jenson’s bail was set at $180,000.
