The remains of a woman found under a log in Gisborne, north of Melbourne, has been identified as Karen Ristevski – the mum from Melbourne who vanished mysteriously 8 months ago.

The last time Mrs Ristevski, 47, was seen was as she left the house following an argument with her husband of 25 years, Borce, 52. Mr Ristevski says she left to ‘clear her head’ and never came home.

The couple’s daughter Sarah, 21, is reportedly devastated at the loss of her mother.

Mr Ristevski has said the argument was over ‘a few hundred dollars’ and says he has no idea how is wife went missing.

While her family are relieved that Mrs Ristevski’s body has been found, they are horrified at what it reveals about her final hours.

‘How a person such as Karen, so full of love, life and laughter, could be left, abandoned, discarded with no thought or emotion shown is unforgivable,’ Karen’s aunt, Patricia Gray, told Fairfax.

Police are appealing the public to call CrimeStoppers with any information on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
