The body of missing woman Qi Yu has been found near a major highway in Sydney, police believe.
Ms Yu, 28, was last seen by friends at a share house in Campsie, in Sydney’s southwest, on Friday, June 8.
A body has since been recovered in the search for Ms Yu, near the M1 off-ramp at Berowra, northwest Sydney.
Police understand the body – which was found wrapped in material – is that of Ms Yu, ABC News reports.
Detectives believed Ms Yu’s white 2016 Toyota Corolla, found dumped in Burwood a short distance from her home, would provide vital clues to her disappearance.
Her family flew to Sydney from China to assist in the search for their missing daughter.
Ms Yu’s flatmate, 19-year-old Shuo Dong, was charged with her murder earlier this month, four days after her disappearance.
Mr Dong remains in custody after appearing in court on June 13.
