Kyle McConnell had perfected her seduction of lonely men.
The 46-year-old would meet them online, draw them into a whirlwind relationship followed by a quick trip down the aisle.
The lovestruck groom would then grant McConnell access to his bank accounts.
Within months she’d clean him out and move on to her next victim.
‘By the time these poor guys would find out what was happening she would split and move on to the next guy,’ said Detective Tim Donnellon from St Clair County, USA.
Her trail of broken hearts came to an end in 2006 when she was caught writing cheques from husband number one, Len Battaglia’s account and making them payable to husband number three, Richard McConnell, all while still married to hubby number two, Doug Rice.
‘She told me she’d only been married once,’ remarked Rice. ‘But I found out I was only one sucker in a bunch!’
Based on the 14 aliases McConnell used, authorities say she could have up to 15 husbands out there who are too ashamed or embarrassed to come forward.
On August 23 2006, at Macomb Michigan Circuit Court, McConnell pleaded guilty to bigamy and was sentenced to one year in jail, to be served concurrently with a 22-month sentence for attempted fraud and theft against husband number three, Richard McConnell.
