It’s believed that Princess Franklin, 31, chucked the pooch out of her car in Houston, Texas, on 13 October.

According to reports, Franklin told police her previous roommate had left the dog behind and that she didn’t know what to do with it.

Police say that she then decided to ‘throw’ the pup on the side of the road before fleeing the scene.

ABC13 reported that Franklin was the ‘driver’ but it’s unclear whether the vehicle was moving at the time.

Luckily, the dog was located the next day and has been taken into care by Harris County Animal Control.

A photo of the dog shows that the animal had clearly been starved, with its rib cage and spine almost visible.

Police are also charging Franklin with abandonment to a non-livestock animal and are determining whether additional charges will be filed.
