Aussie favourite Guy Sebastian has opened up about the pain of being caught up in an horrific accident, which ended in the untimely death of a young boy.
The star recalled the traumatic experience he found himself in while in Bali, after he witnessed a multiple-vehicle scooter crash, during a radio interview this morning.
‘There was a kid who was just squirming in and out of consciousness, and just putting his hands up,’ Guy told Kyle and Jackie O of the terrible scene – revealing the boy appeared to be aged somewhere between 12 and 17.
‘So I grabbed his hand, and the locals are telling me “he’s gone”. I’m yelling at them saying, “Just call someone. You’re not a doctor. Call an ambulance”. No-one was doing [anything]. It was really traumatic.’
As some onlookers gawked at the horrifying scene, the boy’s life slowly ebbed away, despite Guy’s efforts.
‘[He] sort of just ended up stopping breathing,’ an emotional Guy recalled. ‘Literally as I was holding his hand.’
Naturally, Guy has been left deeply affected by what he experienced, and is still dealing with the emotional consequences.
‘I still get flashbacks of it, because I’ll never get that image of that kid out of my head,’ he says.
