The real reason why Kate Middleton did not attend Meghan Markle’s lavish NYC baby shower has finally been revealed.
A heavily pregnant Duchess of Sussex flew to New York City two weeks ago to celebrate the upcoming birth with her famous friends.
But her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, was noticeably absent from the upscale bash.
According to royal sources, Kate did not snub the baby shower due to the rumoured rift between the pair.
‘There is still going to be some sort of private baby-centric event for Meghan’s UK people, and Kate will host,’ the anonymous source told Us Weekly.
‘Her glam people and other relatives will be there. Not sure if it’s a total baby “shower,” but you could probably call it that.’
Meghan flew the 5,500km to New York from London two weeks ago to attend her baby shower.
The event was held at The Mark Hotel’s 10,000-square-foot, two-floor penthouse, which is rumoured to go for $105,000 per night.
High-profile celebrity guests included George Clooney’s wife Amal and Serena Williams.
