Police reveal the coronavirus rules Aussies have broken in the past day

Some of the rules might surprise you!

Victoria Police have revealed examples of some of the coronavirus breaches resulting in huge fines, including a group of mates in a loungeroom and friends in a park.

In the past 24 hours, police conducted 835 spot checks at homes, businesses and non-essential services across the state and issued 114 fines.

Seven people were fined after gathering at a house for a dinner party and three mates that did not live together were also fined for playing video games in the same lounge room.

Another four people were fined after being found walking the streets looking for drugs.

Police also issued infringements to a group of friends hanging out in a park.

On top of those fines, police also attended the Rebels OMCG clubhouse in Sunshine West on Tuesday night and found seven men and two women socialising at the clubhouse.

They were issued fines for breaching the directions of the Chief Health Officer and provided directions to move on.

In Victoria, the on-the-spot fine for breaching stage three restrictions is $1652.

Residents are not allowed to gather in groups more than two outdoors or indoors unless they are members of the same household.

On being asked about the fines at a press conference on Wednesday, Premier Daniel Andrews said instances like this are what spreads the deadly virus.

“If it’s not your immediate household or more than two people then you are spreading the virus,” he said.
