A mum faces charges after she posted a video of herself smoking into the face of her newborn baby.

Tybresha Sexton, 24, livestreamed herself smoking in her one-month-old daughter’s face and shaking the baby.

She was charged with child abuse after viewers alerted police over the 43-second clip.

Police arrested Sexton at her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Sunday (29 October).

In the video, Sexton can be seen lighting a cigarette near the baby’s head. She then finishes a bottle of vodka, while holding the infant in another hand.

According to The Metro, police said Sexton was seen picking up the baby – named Stormy – by one arm and dropping her.

In another part, she began shaking her baby.

Viewers were urging Sexton to stop, with one person writing, ‘She gone kill that baby.’

When police turned up to Sexton’s, she told them the reports weren’t true and allowed them to check on the child.

It’s reported that police officers also noted a heavy scent of alcohol on the woman’s breath.

WTVC reported that an affidavit states how Sexton ‘didn’t want that f****n’ baby anyway.’

The woman has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, as well as child abuse. She was booked at Hamilton County Sheriff’s Court with a $100,000 charge.

Sexton is due to appear in court on October 4. It’s reported the child is currently staying with Sexton’s mother.
