Bride-to-be is shamed over her unique engagement ring

The design has people divided!

An excited bride-to-be who announced her engagement online has been shamed in a private Facebook Group.

Sharing her news with other groups members, the anonymous woman wrote ‘So happy to finally be able to call him my fiancé’ alongside a photo of her ring.

But instead of being supportive, users of the group ‘That’s It, I’m Ring Shaming’ have taunted the woman and compared the simplistic ring to a paperclip.

‘Is that a bent paperclip?’ someone wrote.

‘I hate that the two sides are two different colours… I refuse to believe that is real metal,’ another wrote.

One user seemed to defend the woman by claiming she understood that not everyone wanted a traditional ring, but said she’d ‘pass’ if it was given to her.

It’s understood that the group has since been deactivated from Facebook.
