A stowaway fell from a plane and his body crashed to the ground just a metre or so away from a man sunbaking in his yard.
John Baldock was in his back yard when the frozen body fell from a Kenyan Airways plane coming in to land at Heathrow Airport, UK.
It’s believed it was a stowaway whose frozen body had fallen from the landing gear when the plane came in to land.
The body landed in a garden in Clapham, London, where software engineer John was sunbaking.
One of his neighbours told The Sun that he heard a huge bang and looked outside his window and saw the body.
‘I saw John outside he was shaking and trembling. He wasn’t saying anything. He could hardly speak,’ said the neighbour.
The flight had taken off from Nairobi on Sunday morning at 7:19am (GMT) and landed at 3:50pm (GMT). The corpse fell from the plane at around 3:30pm (GMT).
It’s believed airplane workers later found a bag, supply of food and water stashed in the plane’s landing gear.
The impact of the body falling 1000 metres and landing in the yard is said to have obliterated the body.
John is said to have been left shaken by the incident but also grateful that he wasn’t hurt.
‘It was a narrow miss. The garden isn’t very big,’ is landlord Bob Renwick told The Sun.
‘There was more than a lot of blood. It wasn’t pretty and caused a significant amount of damage.’
