If using fabric napkins press them with an iron and use ironing starch spray to smooth out all wrinkles. Pressing between each fold also makes for a nice smooth and finely pressed completed napkin.
1 Lay a cloth or paper napkin out on a flat surface and smooth it out.
2 Fold the napkin in half vertically, making sure the corners are aligned.

3 Fold it in half again to make a square.
4 Take one layer of fabric from the top right corner and fold it to the left corner about one-third of the way. Press.
5 Fold it over again to meet its own corner.
6 Fold down the second layer of fabric from the top right to meet the line of the already folded over layer.

7 Fold that layer over again to meet its own corner.
8 Flip the napkin over and press.
9 Fold the left side of napkin to the centre, press.
10 Fold the left side of the napkin towards the centre line, tucking it under the left side folds. Press.
