When the Beaver County Times received an obituary for a 21-year-old Anastasia Kline it seemed like a tragic case of a young life lost.
Reaching out to the young woman’s grandmother for more details, the newspaper was shocked to hear that Anastasia wasn’t actually dead. The local coroner had no record of Anastasia’s passing either, leading the paper to suspect the obituary was a ruse.
Anastasia Kline is in fact wanted by police on a number of theft-related charges. It is thought she attempted to publish her own obituary to mislead law enforcement.
