Perth man couldn’t thank robber enough for taking his stereo

'No refunds!' he says.

Tom Drury had parked his 1994 Mazda on the lawn outside his place in Morley, WA when his uncle told him the back door was open.

Rushing out to check the damage Tom was delighted when he discovered that his stereo was missing.

‘The stereo was broken – it didn’t pick up radio stations and didn’t read any discs – it was just rubbish,’ he told WA Today.

‘To get it out, I needed a special tool I didn’t have, so when I saw that the stereo was removed, I couldn’t help but laugh.’

The stereo extraction wasn’t the only favour the thief did for Tom that day. Sitting on Tom’s drivers’ seat was a $10 note and some coins equalling $22.10.

‘If I could say one thing to the thief, it would be ‘thank you.’ he laughs.

“Thank you for paying me for a service I was going to pay someone else to do. And by the way, no refunds!”
