Police in North Carolina were called to the house of Tracey Murphy, whose grandson had been hit in the head by his mother, reports Newser.
The boy’s sister said their mother, Shontrell Murphy, had ripped the card to pieces and then hit her son hard in the head.
When asked by Police why she had hit her son, Murphy allegedly replied ‘because she could.’
She was charged with cruelty to children.
