A woman has shared a photo of a chilling find in her beef tacos that she swear looks like ‘teeth’.
Thoroughly grossed out, Courtney Aguilar posted a snap of the gruesome find to Facebook, where her photo suddenly went viral.
The post, which is now private, started with ‘When you order Barbacoa tacos but get teeth instead.’
It goes on to explain that the waitstaff didn’t know what exactly it was but suggested it was ‘baby teeth’.
The Mexican restaurant, Il Rincon in Pflugerville, Texas, say they have never seen anything like it.
Barbacoa can be made from any part of the cow, but is most often made from beef cheeks.
Apologising to Aguilar about the dish, they explain that the meat for the tacos is the only thing they don’t prepare in their own kitchen.
Prepped instead by the vendor, Laxson, the bizarre find was identified as beef lips.
A spokesperson for Laxson told CBS News: ‘We admit cow lips are not the most attractive food item and can resemble teeth. Unfortunately, it made its way into this customer’s dish.’
Aguilar says in a recent post that she has no ill will toward the restaurant, and is grateful for their response.
Il Rincon have said they’re no longer working with Laxson and will not serve Barbacoa until they’re confident this won’t happen again.
