A mum has been arrested for leaving her child in a running car outside a nightclub.
Samantha Grace Vaughan, faces various charges after police officers responded to 1.45am reports of a one-year-old child in the backseat of a car in Texas, U.S.
Upon arrival, they located Vaughan, 26, in the nearby Trackside Nightclub.
News show WGMB reported that the car doors were also unlocked.
The mum told officers that she’d gone inside to pick up her husband, but a police officer observed the smell of alcohol on her.
And upon questioning, KWTX reported that Vaughan told the officer she’d had two shots.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, when the woman was taken into custody she screamed at officers, ‘You will not take my child.’
And court papers demonstrated she threatened an officer and his family.
After a breath test at Copperas Cove Police Department, Vaughan’s blood alcohol level was 0.148.
The legal limit in Texas is 0.08.
Vaughan faces charges of abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return, resisting arrest and terroristic threats to a public servant.
