A restaurant has been shut down after a video of a mouse running rampant has gone viral.

A restaurant has been shut down after a video of a mouse running ramped has gone viral.

The video was filmed in the US burger chain Whataburger in which the rodent is seen jumping across the kitchen bench tops was posted on Facebook last week.

The video shows the rush of staff trying to prevent the mouse for touching the food also shows the unknown diners in the background.

Team members are seen tying to swat and divert the little mouse away from the kitchen and outside the burger restaurant.

In an attempt to scoop the mouse up he breaks free of the containers and jumps into the deep fryer.

Shared nearly 70,000 times you can hear staff discussing what to do with the rodent after it disappears in the boiling oil.

Whataburger has responded to the video stating they have notified pest control, closed the restaurant and have sanitised the burger chain.

However this hasn’t stopped the video from spreading with comments from all around the world expressing their disgust in fast food chain hygiene standards.
