Meghan Markle, 37, made a surprise visit to Wimbledon tennis tournament yesterday (July 4 2019) and wore a secret message to Archie very close to her chest.
The Duchess of Sussex took a well-earned rest from looking after baby Archie to watch close friend Serena Williams beat Kaja Juvan on Court One.
Wearing a white pinstripe blazer, blue jeans and a white trilby hat, Meghan was also wearing a discreet message to two-month-old Archie. The sweet ‘A’ necklace was seen around Meghan’s neck.
The necklace is reportedly Jennifer Meyer and cost $550.
Her third public appearance since giving birth, Meghan looked in good spirits. She was joined by close friends Lindsay Roth, who was tipped to be her maid-of-honour until she decided against having one, and Genevieve Hillis, who co-hosted Meghan’s baby shower with Serena Williams.
The trio’s appearance fired speculation that one or both of them may be Archie’s ‘secret’ godparents at his christening.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed the christening of Archie will take place this Saturday (July 6) in the private chapel of Windsor Castle. The names of the 25 guests haven’t been released, nor have the names of the godparents. The media hasn’t been invited to take photos.
A statement from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday read: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton.
‘The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private.’
Last year, Meghan made an appearance at Wimbledon with her sister-in-law Kate where they watched the ladies final in which Serena also played.
Meghan became good friends with Serena Williams in 2014 after meeting her at a charity football match. Serena has also been speculated to be one of Archie’s godparents.
We’ll be waiting with eagle eyes to see the official photos on Saturday!
