Police are appealing for information from the public after the body of Danielle Easey, 29, was found wrapped in plastic near Newcastle, NSW.
Her body was found by a passersby on Saturday near a creek in Lake Macquarie, in the New South Wales Hunter Region.
Although the cause of death hasn’t been released, she died what a senior detective has described a ‘gruesome death’.
Due to the body’s composition it’s believed she may have been there for up to three weeks.
Although she was based at her mum Jennifer Collier’s home at Booragul, Danielle hadn’t been reported missing by family or friends as she’d recently fallen in with the wrong crowd and had been couch surfing.
Her older brother, Brandon, described his heart as broken.
‘My heart is terribly, terribly broken,’ he wrote on social media. ‘Right now I’m not okay. I’ll hold up. Spend your thoughts in memory of Dell, my little sister.’

NSW’s Homicide Squad’s Detective Chief Inspector Grant Taylor said investigators are appealing for assistance to establish Danielle Easey’s movements in the weeks leading up to her death.
In particular they have asked for passing motorists to come forward with any dash cam footage they have from the area where she was found.
‘We know that Danielle was staying at different locations over the last three weeks and we are keen to establish where those locations were and speak to who she stayed with during that time,’ Det Ch Insp Taylor said.
‘Of particular interest to us is any sightings or contact with Danielle since early to mid-August, and we are appealing for those people to contact us as soon as possible.
‘Our investigations have revealed Danielle had been associating with people involved in drug-related activities over the last few weeks.
‘Detectives have been liaising with her family, who last had contact with Danielle several weeks ago.
‘We are keen to speak to any motorists with dash cam vision who may have been driving in the area of Wakefield Road over the past three weeks,’ Det Ch Insp Taylor.

Danielle made headlines when she was born on December 28 1989 as she was on a lawn outside Newcastle during a massive earthquake. Her arrival prompted her to be given the nickname ‘Quaker’ by family and friends.
Danielle’s drug addiction meant she was known to police in the area and she was due to appear at Newcastle Local Court last week for breaching community corrections orders.

Anyone with information about that may assist is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at Crime Stoppers. Information is treated in strict confidence.
