Australia’s favourite baby names revealed

In 2016 these were the top names for new babies.

A new report from the departments of Births, Deaths, and Marriages reveals Aussies are getting traditional with their names.

Classic names like Grace, Sophie, and Olivia have made the top 10 for girls while Thomas, James, and Jack are in the top 10 for boys.

The most popular names, however, seem to have a royal inspiration – Charlotte topping the list for girls, the same name as the new British princess and William coming second for boys, just behind number one pick, Oliver.
