A ‘disgraced’ oncologist has been stripped of her license after sleeping with her dying cancer patient.
Theepa Sundaralingam, a 37-year-old Canadian female doctor, reportedly had an affair with an ’emaciated’ man who was receiving treatment for cancer.
She was found guilty of sexually abusing her patient by a disciplinary panel at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in Toronto.
It was found Ms Sundaralingam had sexual intercourse with the man in his hospital bed and had regular phone sex with him, according to the Toronto Star.
Their affair began in 2015 after Ms Sundaralingam offered her Instagram handle and phone number only a day after personally delivering him his diagnosis.

The disciplinary panel described her behaviour as ‘abusive’ and ‘abhorrent’, and that she disgraced herself and her profession.
The man – who cannot be named – said he was ‘physically emaciated’ and ’emotionally exposed’ when the pair began their affair.
‘At the time, I was unable to see the ramifications of dating my treating oncologist. I couldn’t see how vulnerable I was and how much power she had over me,’ he said.
Ms Sundaralingam was ordered to pay $AU22,000 to cover patient therapy costs, and $AU8250 to cover the discipline hearing costs.
