If you think that retirement-home life is boring, think again!
Love blossomed within the walls of Kingston Residence in Ohio and after a year of courtship, John and Phyllis Cook tied the knot in July this year.
John, 100, and Phyllis, 102, had both been widowed twice when they met.
Neither expected to be lucky enough to find romance a third time, but that’s exactly what happened.
‘To tell you the truth, we fell in love,’ Phyllis told local news station WNWO. ‘I know you think that may be a little bit far-fetched for somebody our age, but we fell in love with each other.’
The couple headed to the courthouse to obtain a marriage licence and when they were told they could marry right then and there, they happily said, ‘I do!’
Although they keep their own separate apartments within the retirement complex, John and Phyllis spend their days enjoying each other’s company.
When asked about their favourite thing to do together John grinned cheekily.
‘Well, I probably shouldn’t talk about that,’ he laughed.
