A blind border collie and his best friend are waiting for their forever home after being abandoned in the woods.
Nine-year-old canines Roy and Bess were found tied to a tree after being abandoned by their owner in Cumbria, England.
Roy is blind in one eye and seriously impaired in the other, while Bess acts as his guide dog.
Now, the RSPCA hopes to find a home for the inseparable pair.
The charity suspects the duo were once working dogs on a farm before they were abandoned.
They believe the owner had struggled to take care of the adorable pair.
RSPCA Westmorland branch manager Christine Lowe said: “They are both lovely, friendly, happy dogs who deserve a home where they’ll get all of the affection they crave as they come into their senior years.”
The fluffy friends are described as “very sweet and affectionate”.
They are up for adoption under the charity’s elderly rehoming scheme, which assists new owners with financing their vet bills.
But the RSPCA are keen to make sure Bess and Roy are rehomed together.
Having lived outside for most of their lives, the collies would be best suited for sheltered, outside accommodation.
They are not house-trained but they do know some basic commands.
