A mum left her kids in a hot car a week after her disabled sister died in the same way, according to police.
It’s alleged that Ashley Pangalangan left the two children in a vehicle while she went to Walmart, Walterboro, South Carolina, on Monday (12 August) afternoon.
The Metro reported that the car’s air conditioning was broken, meaning hot air was blowing on the seven-year-old and six-month-old.
According to reports, just last week, Pangalangan’s mother, Rita Pangalangan, was charged with murdering her disabled daughter, Cristina – Ashley’s sister – by also leaving her in a hot car.
Emergency services arrived at 5pm, but Cristina was beyond help.
Rita was named Teacher of the Year by the Colleton County School District in 2014.

Greenville News reported that Ashley’s children were found by police in the car, while temperatures outside were 90F.
The children were uninjured and have been put in protective custody.
Ashley was arrested and charged with unlawful conduct of a minor.
She is currently at Colleton County Detection Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
Rita and boyfriend Larry King, also accused of Cristina’s murder, are also locked up at the detention center without a bond.
