A 26-year-old man who groomed underage girls online has been jailed for eight years.
Ryan Suttle from Dapto, NSW, used Snapchat and Instagram to contact teenage underage girls who he’d get to send nude photos to him.
He also arranged to meet with the girls and got them to perform sex acts. One of the girls was given cash, alcohol and cigarettes.
From 2014 to 2018, the paedophile had sex with four of his seven victims who were aged 14 and 15.
Suttle was charged with 86 offences and pleaded guilty to 45 charges by way of a plea bargain. Among the charges he pleaded guilty to included paying underage teens for sex in acts of child prostitution and videoing some of his victims to make child pornography.
He was sentenced to seven years and 11 months in jail at Wollongong District Court on Thursday, where he appeared via video link. Judge Andrew Haesler said Suttle ‘was knowingly taking advantage of children,’ reports The Illawarra Mercury.
The court heard that at the time of his offences, Suttle had a steady girlfriend and was saving to buy a house while working for the family’s cleaning business.
A psychologist who assessed Suttle described him as having a sex addiction, depression and gambling habit which stemmed from a back injury he had in 2015.
The predator will be eligible for parole in March 2023 after serving four years and 11 months.
