German flight attendant, Olivia Sievers, had no idea her one act of kindness would lead to this life-time connection.
Spending some time in Buenos Aires, Olivia went for a walk early in the morning and encountered the big golden stray. They played for a while and she gave him some food. From that moment he was smitten. It seems this dog, nicknamed Rubio, had an extreme case of puppy love!
Rubio started waiting outside Olivia’s hotel every day and following her as she walked around the city. She tried to discourage him, but he was like a dog with a bone.
He waited outside her hotel for 6 months.
He ran away when she tried to home him somewhere else.
Rubio finally found his forever home with Olivia.
‘I tried to change my way as I didn’t want him to follow me to the hotel but it was not possible he always followed me so I tried [to wait] one hour but he always watched me and followed me,’ she told Noticiero Trece.
Over 6 months flying in and out of the city Olivia would find Rubio waiting every time. Olivia started sharing her growing friendship with Rubio on her Facebook page. According to the Daily Mail she even tried to re-home him but he would run away only to end up outside her hotel again.
Rubio’s persistence paid off and Olivia was convinced they were a pair. She decided it was time to take him home to Germany where now live, happily every after.
What a love story!
