Dog rescued by police adopted immediately by emergency dispatcher

When police in Mountain View, California, were called to investigate an abandoned dog in a park they were horrified at what they found.

In a Facebook post, the MVPD described the poor sausage dog as being trapped in a cage ‘covered in his own food and droppings’.

The officers immediately took the dog back to the station and cleaned him up, where he was spotted by dispatcher who fell in love with him at first sight.

Thankfully for this pooch he had a happy ending – but many dogs aren’t so lucky. In their post the MVPD urge people who can no longer look after their pets to turn them in to their local animal control, and not cruelly abandon them.
