When Valda, 106, and Jaco, 66, met in their retirement village in out east Brazil they knew it was love.
For the last three years they have been inseparable, chatting together and eating their meals side-by-side in the seniors’ home.
Doctors have banned them from getting married and moving out of the home out of concern for their health so they decided to have an engagement ceremony instead!
Dressed in white and flanked by a page boy and flower girl, Valda walked down the aisle to Jaco who, in a fancy suit and tie, exchanged vows with her before sealing their commitment with a kiss.
An initiative called ‘Project of Dreams’ helped them get their big day off the ground, with a volunteer band, cake, and flowers.
Jaco says of their union: ‘I know she’s a little older than me, but that doesn’t matter because she makes me really happy.’
