The Metro reported that the child’s ‘motionless’ body was discovered by her dad in their Dubai home.

He had given his daughter permission to use the tub, but went looking for her after he realised she had been gone for a while.

Rushing over to the hot tub in their house – which is located in the Bur Dubai district – he found his girl’s body ‘pinned to the bottom’ of the three feet tub.

According to Gulf News, police have not yet revealed the child’s nationality, only describing her as ‘European.’

The team that that an engineering ‘flaw’ had caused the hot tub’s drains to produce strong ‘swirls’. Due to the strength, they ‘affected the water’s flow dynamic and as a result sucked the hair easily.’

It’s believed that there was also an unequal suction power across the hot tub’s filters.

Colonel Ahmad Humaid, the director of Dubai’s CSI team, said children should ‘always be taught to stay away from drains.’

He added that kids should also ‘always be supervised around water bodies, especially swimming pools, hot tubs and open beaches.’
