When cops rolled up to a Melton house at 9:30 in the morning they had hoped to find a person who could help them with a current investigation.

Moving cautiously, the officers tried to communicate with the occupants, certain there was someone inside. After seven hours, they had run out of patience.

‘After no response from the property the house was entered and cleared about 4.30pm and no occupants were located inside,’ a Police spokesperson said.
