A bride discovered a hidden message written on her wedding shoes, sent from her mother beyond the grave.
The UK woman, only identified as Emma, ordered a pair of gorgeous heels from online designer Lace and Love.
Emma’s mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2016, and she secretly paid for the shoes without her daughter knowing.
The mother-of-the-bride tragically died before the shoes were finished – but she left a beautiful secret message written on the soles of the baby pink heels.
‘Sadly her mum passed away before the shoes were finished but we sent them out last week and I had a very emotional phone call when the client received her shoes,’ Amanda Weise, owner of Lace and Love, shared on Facebook.
‘What a lovely thing for this mum to do and I know these shoes will carry an even more special meaning to this client. Her mum will be right with her on her wedding day.’
The heartfelt message reads: ‘Wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you.’
‘Hope you have a magical day. Lots and lots love and big hugs, MUM xxxx.’
The mother’s cancer diagnosis came only a month after Emma was engaged, given two years to live.
She passed away just last year, never to see her daughter walk down the aisle.
Emma is planning to wed her fiancé, Richard, in August.
Speaking to the BBC, Emma said her late mother’s message left her in ‘absolute shock’.
‘I started to cry… I was just absolutely in bits. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk.’
Amanda Weise also told the BBC she believed Emma’s mother intended the shoes to be a gift after her death.
‘From the message that she wrote, I think she did intend for it to be after she was gone,’ she said.
