A 100-year-old woman has revealed her secret to living longer – and it’s a lot more enjoyable than you’d think!
US centenarian Florence Bearse turned 100 in 2017 and had a few pearls of wisdom for the younger generation.
When asked how she lived such a long and full life, Bearse told local TV station WLBZ: ‘I like my wine. Don’t take it away from me.’
Bearse also had another hilarious piece of advice she’d learned in her old age.
‘Don’t take any baloney,’ she recommended.
While Bearse’s comments could be taken with a grain of salt, there actually is some scientific truth to her taste for wine.
Studies have shown that drinking wine actually lowers your risk of heart disease, stroke and Type 2 Diabetes.
Another study found that a glass of wine a day can also delay the onset of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Amazingly, red wine has even more benefits as it can lower cholesterol (in healthy doses).
