The mother of a little boy who was killed in a shock murder-suicide shared a post about depression before the deaths.
Lochlan Bond was found dead alongside his mother, Erica, 47, on Tuesday.
The pair lived at Wyongah on the New South Wales Central Coast.
Wyong state MP David Harris took to Twitter on Tuesday to share his condolences.
He tweeted: ‘My condolences to the family and friends of those involved in the tragic deaths in Wyongah today. Very sad to hear. A real tragedy.’
Police confirmed the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, according to the Express Advocate.
‘Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths but no other parties are being sought in relation to this incident,’ New South Wales Police said.
Before the shock deaths, Lochlan’s mother had shared several Facebook posts about depression.
On July 25, she shared a video about suicide awareness and prevention.
‘Don’t suffer in silence. The ‘Man Up’ campaign is encouraging men to speak about their feelings and says it’s OK to cry,’ the video’s caption said. Erica also urged others to support Australian farmers on her Facebook page.
Among other posts on her page she shared one about mental health awareness.
‘Depression is REAL,’ it said. ‘People can smile all day and still be broken inside. Share if u think this is right’.
