The body of a 29-year-old mum was locked inside a toilet marked ‘out of order’ for three whole days before shopping centre employees discovered her.
The woman, identified as mother-of-one Katherine Caraway from Muskogee, Oklahoma, had become locked in the family bathroom at the Walmart in nearby Sand Springs.
When employees discovered the room was locked, and no one responding to knocks, they assumed it was out of order and put a sign outside, say police.
The following Monday Katherine’s body was discovered when the store unlocked the door.
Security footage shows her entering the store on Friday, but did not capture her leaving. She did not have her son with her.
‘There was nothing suspicious that indicated her cause of death at the scene,’ Sand Springs Police Capt. Todd Enzbrenner told Tulsa World.
‘So the medical examiner will have to determine it.’
