Police are on the hunt for at least two men following the dramatic abduction of a nurse in the Gold Coast early this morning.

The 25-year-old nurse was walking to his car nearby Pindara Private Hospital when he was attacked by at least four armed men, who were armed with knives and a gun.

The man was forced into the boot of his car and driven to an ATM at Parklands Drive at Parkwood where they made him withdraw $500 in cash.

During the ordeal, he was beaten and slashed with the knife before he was forced back into the boot of the vehicle.

At around 4.20am in the morning, the car crashed into a fence on Kurrambee Avenue and police arrived at 4.45am after being alerted by the commotion.

‘We woke up to someone through our fence, and at first I thought he was a drunk driver and I came out to render assistance and then realised that he was really badly hurt,’ a resident recounted.

‘He said that he had been robbed at gunpoint by four men, one of them had a gun, one of them had knives and he had knife wounds all down his arms. He was just in shock, he could not even tell me his name.’

The four men fled the scene in a Toyota Prius before crashing in one of the streets nearby.

One of the men was taken in by police and the others ran from the scene.

The nurse is in a stable condition and recovering at Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police have closed off the road and are currently searching for the remaining men.
