He'd get our vote!

A dog has been elected mayor of the US town of Cormorant – for the third time in a row.

Duke, the nine-year-old Great Pyrenees, won thanks to having the ‘highest approval rankings in the country’.

It all came about three years ago when Duke’s owner, David Rick, put the fluffy white political prospect in the running.

As a fundraiser, voters chipped in a dollar and voted for who should be the town’s first honourary mayor. With 12 votes, Duke was the clean favourite!

The mayor was unavailable for comment on his election win.
