But the 61-year-old grandmother never imagined it would end in heartbreak when her husband of more than four decades, Carson, left her for her sister, Helen!

Gill was just 16 when she met and married Carson. Happily settled in England, Gill decided not to relocate with the rest of her family when they emigrated to Australia.

But she missed Helen, who was two years her junior, terribly. So when the sisters finally reunited in 2014, Carson was there to witness the touching family moment.

At first, Gill was pleased her husband and sister got along so well. But they were often enjoying late night drinks and Helen soon organised another trip, where the pair often caught up without Gill.

It was only at a family barbecue that Gill and Carson’s daughter, Kerry, discovered the truth.

She told Gill she’d found messages on her father’s phone to Helen and they were of a sexual nature.

While Carson initially denied the accusations, he soon told his wife he was leaving her.

When Gill asked if he was leaving her for Helen, Carson admitted they had fallen in love the moment they met. But he insisted nothing sexual had happened.

Not long after they split, Carson left Gill and relocated to Australia to be with Helen.

‘I heard from family that Helen and Carson are living together and have even exchanged rings,’ Gill told that’s life!

‘I still love my sister, but I don’t ever want to see Carson again. He betrayed me and ruined the life we’d built together. My sister can have him!’

When contacted for comment, Helen said ‘no comment’. Carson could not be reached for comment.
